Matriarca is the home of the Symington family, located in the heart of Porto. Inspired by Beatriz Atkinson, the matriarch, it was born from the desire to create a place where wine, gastronomy and hospitality naturally come together.

Much more than just a wine destination, Matriarca brings together different experiences in one place. From the wine bar to the dining room, from the cellar shop to the wine academy and the attic bar, each space has its own identity, all united by the same objective: to welcome visitors, encourage sharing and celebrate the winemaking heritage of the Symington family.

With a selection bringing together some of the most prestigious wines from the Douro, Alentejo, Monção & Melgaço and Hampshire regions, Matriarca invites visitors to discover the diversity of the Symington universe through tastings, food and wine pairings, private experiences and a carefully curated gastronomic offering to complement each wine.

More than a restaurant or a wine cellar, Matriarca is a place where time seems suspended, where conversations take place without haste and where every visitor is welcomed with the hospitality that has always been part of the Symington family history.
