    • Café Guarany: More Than Just a Café – A Gateway to Discovering Porto

This distinctive venue is not only a café but also a cultural hub where people come together to connect, share, and enjoy life. Located on Avenida dos Aliados, it welcome you every day from Monday to Saturday, from 9 AM to 11:30 PM, inviting you to indulge in gourmet experiences amidst a warm and inviting atmosphere at any time of day. Café Guarany: A Restaurant with Authentic Porto Heritage

Since its opening on January 28, 1933, Café Guarany has become an essential part of Porto's social scene, offering the perfect spot for a drink, a friendly chat, lunch, or a celebratory toast in an exquisite setting. After a renovation in 2003, this iconic establishment has preserved its original charm, featuring stunning marble reliefs depicting indigenous figures, along with elegant steel and copper accents, and striking lighting fixtures that evoke the spirit of 20th-century Brazil—the world's leading coffee producer. Take a moment to appreciate every artistic detail, including two captivating paintings by Graça Morais titled “Les Seigneurs d'Amazonie,” before settling in. As welcoming and convivial as ever, Café Guarany, affectionately known as Café des Musiciens, offers a unique, timeless atmosphere that invites you to linger.

Café Guarany: All-Day Dining in the Heart of Porto

Prepare your taste buds for an exquisite culinary journey at Café Guarany, where the diverse menu caters to every craving from morning to night. Begin your day with a delightful breakfast featuring hot beverages, fresh fruit juices, a selection of breads and pastries, yogurt, a choice of main dishes, and even a flute of sparkling wine. The gastronomic adventure continues with an array of specialty meat and vegetarian sandwiches, including the renowned club sandwich with the famous “Francesinha,” a local favorite. From 3 PM to 7 PM, indulge in the afternoon tea, complete with a hot drink and a sweet or savory treat, such as the celebrated French toast with egg custard and dried fruits. Savor Portuguese specialties alongside local wines, and don’t forget to indulge in the creamy desserts, crepes, or indulgent ice cream sundaes. If you love the unique ambiance of Café Guarany, keep an eye out for the regular events, including the unforgettable Piano Bar.

Whether you’re looking for a cozy spot to unwind or a place to celebrate life's moments, Café Guarany is the quintessential destination to experience the heart and soul of Porto.

I've rarely had such a bad meal for this price. The salmon was raw in places, the rice and sauce were extremely watery, and the bread at the place setting was hard. The waiter was overly polite, which didn't match the food served. The only positive thing is the restaurant's lovely ambiance.

The negative reviews are incomprehensible and distressing. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants/cafes in existence today. A jewel of the past that stands out completely among the disgusting modernity, both in terms of decor and service. And yet, it was practically empty when we went...

It's fine. Maybe it's more entertaining when there is music being played but it's not really all that much different, frankly, from any other nice cafe in the city.

Very poor, bland food but waiter service excellent. There's so many wonderful restaurants in Porto, so save your time and money by going elsewhere!
