Quinta de São Luiz, located on the left bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, in the parish of Adorigo, is the birthplace of the Kopke and São Luiz wines.

It is a 125-hectare estate, with 95 hectares of carefully tended vineyards. The estate has a visitor center, as well as offering wine tastings and purchasing wines. Currently, visitors can also stay at The Vine House, a small boutique hotel, and experience the São Luiz restaurant by Chef Vítor de Oliveira, a gastronomic concept deeply connected to the roots of the Douro region.

Visits to Quinta de São Luiz

During a visit to Quinta de São Luiz, it is possible to learn about the history of the Douro region, the estate and the vineyards, as well as the winemaking process — from harvesting to aging. At the end, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a tasting of still wines and Port wines.

Kopke Group Store

At Quinta de São Luiz, there is a space dedicated to the purchase of São Luiz and Kopke wines, as well as other brands from the Kopke Group. The shop is also open to visitors passing through.

Stays at The Vine House

Combining charm and comfort, this accommodation unit, located on a farm, is the result of the restoration of an old family home. The interiors reflect a light and contemporary vision, with traditional architecture and elements of local craftsmanship.

The Vine House has eleven rooms, all with views over the Douro River, functioning as true VIP boxes overlooking the vineyard landscape. It also features an infinity pool and a restaurant.

The Vine House restaurant, helmed by Chef Vítor de Oliveira, reflects a culinary expertise dating back to 1994. The Douro River is the main inspiration for the gastronomic concept, based on the traditions of the Douro region and a simple, authentic, and contemporary approach.
