Incredible in its architecture, it features a 280-metre-long arch with pure lines, a meticulous piece of work that earned it the world construction record. With 4 lanes of traffic in both directions and a width of 20 metres, it relieves traffic from the Louís I bridge. Built in 2003, it is named after the Porto-born boy who set off to discover the New Worlds. Don't drive too fast to admire the view over the city and the Quai de Gaia.
