      Overlooking the Douro River near the famous Dom Luís I Bridge, the Burmester cellars, a true institution in the world of wine and port, are located in Vila Nova de Gaia. Open Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm, they invite you to experience a timeless moment in an authentic Porto setting.

      The reputation of JW Burmester Cie is well established. Since 1750, Henry Burmester and John Nash have joined forces to export Port wine to Europe, a commitment carried on and perpetuated by subsequent generations at the heart of the company. Famous for its Port wine, the Burmester cellars are also a benchmark in the production of Douro DOC wines, viticultural gems that captivate palates worldwide with their unique flavors. More than just a visit, an incredible experience awaits you in Vila Nova de Gaia: the discovery of authentic wine and a company of character, renowned for its determination and success.

      An immersion into the heart of Porto through a variety of visits

      Once you have booked the day and time of your visit, simply let yourself be guided to hear the fascinating story of the origins of Port wine, whose terraced vineyards dot the landscape from Quinta Do Arnozelo to the banks of the Douro River. Several tours are available at the Burmester Cellars:

      • The classic tasting includes a visit to the cellars and a tasting of two port wines.
      • The premium tasting includes a tour of the cellars as well as a tasting of 3 port wines accompanied by chocolate
      • The exclusive tasting includes a tour of the cellars and a tasting of 3 port wines
      • The tawny port tasting experience includes a tour of the cellars and a tasting of 3 tawny port wines


      Guided tours are presented by passionate, multilingual guides to ensure that each visit is an immersive experience in the world of port.

    Super price and cool tour. You can go on longer ones in the likes of Grahams but for those just wanting a nice, short fun tour this is perfect. Cool atmosphere in the tasting room.
