Terrible experience from start to finish. We booked a cellar tour and Fado show at Fonseca. The cellar was so noisy from the nearby reception area that we could barely hear the guide, who also couldn’t answer basic questions and admitted he wasn’t an expert. The Fado show was even worse. Despite being told to remain silent, most of the audience talked throughout, and staff actually encouraged noise while trying to sell merchandise in the same room. This completely ruined the atmosphere, and the performers were visibly frustrated. When we complained, staff were dismissive and told us to email instead. Overall, it felt like a complete scam. I’d strongly recommend choosing a different port wine tour.

Avoid at all costs; the tour is only available via audio guide, and the staff are indifferent.
