  Beautiful hotel with many nice elements. The service was incredible. Really felt like a little oasis in the center of Porto. However, for the price you pay and also what you sort of expect when seeing the rest of the hotel, the bed was a massive letdown. Very hard and basic mattress, probably one of the least comfortable we've ever slept in. Also, the pillows were some of the worst, and unfortunately no alternatives were available. Also, right next to the bed was a very loud heat pump or hot water boiler, which was humming the whole night. So, if you're sensitive on bed comfort this might not be the place, but if that is less important, the hotel is as said beautiful, well designed and then staff were very friendly. One last issue we had repeatedly over the 3 nights stay - the toilet didnt flush, so we ended up doing our business in the reception toilet. However, after 3 nights with less than ideal sleep, we decided on another hotel for the last 2 nights of our Porto stay.

  This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Porto. We stayed 5 nights at the premium one bedroom and it felt better than home. My husband and I agree that this is the best hotel we’ve stayed on our 17 day trip in Spain and Portugal from all aspects. The room: This is one of the few hotels that the rooms actually look better than the pictures. As an ex-interior designer, I highly appreciate all the small thoughtful details went into the property. All the building materials used were of high quality, the bathrooms walls were in full marble slabs with matching veins. All the decor items and tableware were tastefully selected. The bed was very comfortable (on the firmer side but I like it) and the bedsheets are soft. We slept like a rock every night here. The only thing I wish we had was chairs and a coffee table on the balcony to enjoy a coffee outside. Service and amenities: Room cleaning was fast and we usually find the cleaning crew clean it up before noon. We were not a fan of the complementary bottle of wine but the Ethiopian and decaf coffee pods were delicious. I used the gym once during our stay, it was small but clean and you’ll find most of the typical equipments. The front desk staff were always smiley, friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. Location: It’s a 5-10mins walk to the big market and main shopping street, and probably 20-25mins walk to the river. The neighborhood has a mix vibe of old local stores and hip new restaurants/cafes, and seems to be a very local area.
