  We had a wonderful stay in this very nice hotel, the rooms are spacious, the staff are friendly and there is definitely a great attention to detail and customer service above the average. The garden is well maintained and rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast exceeded our expectations - rich selection of food, order to make eggs in various options, coffee served at the table, it was perhaps one of the best hotel buffet breakfasts we had in Portugal. Check-in experience was also fantastic as we could taste their port with chocolate during the admin process. Their swimming pools and spa are good, however there was a family with kids learning to swim when we were there so we could not really relax in the sauna or hammam as the kids were screaming and the spa facilities are in the same pool area. I am really sorry I have to leave 4/5 due to the strong sewage smell in the lobby area and on the 1st floor on our first day and in the gym on our 2nd day - it was impossible to exercise in the gym with the unpleasant smell of sewage. Otherwise the hotel is a hidden gem in Gaia.
