  We loved our stay at this hotel. We stayed 3 nights and are sad to be leaving! At check in, it was fast and efficient, and they kindly offered us a taste of their Port wine, which is bottled at the on-site Quinta da Boeira. Due to having the Amex Hotel Collection benefits, we received an upgrade immediately to a garden/pool-facing King deluxe room, which was a beautiful room. The room was well designed with a very comfy, large bed. The bathroom was incredibly spacious with two sinks in addition to a rainfall shower, which was one of the best hotel showers we have ever experienced. Due to Hilton Gold status, we received free breakfast for 2 at the hotel each day. Breakfast each morning was incredible and also a highlight. There were a lot of made to order options with omelettes and eggs Benedict as well as an extensive buffet. On the buffet, there were hot foods (full English breakfast), smoked salmon, vegetables, tons of fresh pastries (including Pasteis de Nata), fresh juices, pancakes, waffles, crepes, and fruit. Coffee including espresso drinks were included. We were very impressed by the variety and quality of the breakfast offered, and it was amazing value to have it included! We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night using our Amex credit, which was just ok. The taste was good, but portions were small for the high prices. We ended up eating our other dinners elsewhere, which were much more reasonable despite being similar quality. Service here is absolutely top notch! All the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and always made us feel right at home. They were incredibly helpful with anything that we needed. A nice touch was that the hotel also gave us vouchers to try the port tonic for 2 at the hotel bar for free, which we absolutely loved. This was such a great gesture from the hotel, and we really appreciated it. We didn’t end up having time to do the complimentary port wine tasting at the on-site winery, but it was really nice that they offered this. The hotel was really quiet and felt like an oasis within a big city. We really appreciated being able to come back from the busy historic city center to a quiet retreat and slept really well given how quiet and private the hotel felt. The hotel itself is very new and modern, which we loved. It was close to the historic Dom Luis bridge and river walks, which were only 15-20 minutes away and 30 minutes to historic Porto. We ended up usually walking there and then taking a car back to the hotel to avoid having to climb uphill. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel. It is a beautiful place and lovely experience. We would certainly come back here in the future!
